About Us

I started ELES at 56, to embark on a new career. Educated in an established UK boarding grammar school, during which I spent my holidays working for my Mother. She was a hard task-master, appearing significantly more demanding of me than of any other employees. With the exacting standards of the most formidable Sergeant Major, she taught me to keep the financial records and manage the stock system. With hindsight, I realise that she was equipping me with very useful business skill that would be invaluable later in life.

Upon leaving school, I attended college to study Business Studies and Supervisory Management. Following on from that, I dipped my toe in a few different areas, expanding my knowledge, gaining experience, until pursuing a career in HR. The one consistent element was a natural way with words and business acumen.

It was during this time that I discovered a talent for technology and re-routed into technical support and IT training. This was the beginning of a long and pleasurable career in IT that culminated in being a self employed contractor within, what was then, 6 of the country's top 10 commercial websites. Gaining many vocational qualifications in the industry, I attended courses across the country, always being the only woman in attendance. As I was working 300 miles away from my home for a period of 2 years, I then relocated back down to the South West UK .

I continued in that field, contracting for a Local Authority and a few private companies, until I took some time out. During this period, I was helping local small business owners with productivity and IT projects. Since that time, I have been involved more with business projects, processes and training predominantly within IT, but not exclusively.

Throughout my life, I have had an attraction to linguistics and have decided to develop further skills in this area. Qualifying as an EFL teacher, I offer a variety of English language services and have built a bank of native speakers from across the globe in order to provide a 'one-stop-shop' for all things language related.

In addition to this, since the onset of COVID-19, I offer online tuition and coaching in basic IT, whether it be smart phones, internet, email, security, or Microsoft Office products, to older people. There are many scams and fraudulent activities that scare the people off who would most benefit from it at this time.
